Swallows are a repeating image
in much of Hasler's work. And according to Hasler a huge
inspiration. Why? Hasler -- who
is extensively tattooed herself -- explained her fascination with vintage tattoos, the kind sailors used to get. Like the anchor,
and of course, the swallow.
"Swallows," said Hasler "are the first thing sailors see when nearing land. That's how they know they're
almost home." I see the swallow as

wearing makes you look hot? OMG! And what's wrong with hot? Are you afraid that if you look hot someone might take notice? Might see and feel your confidence? Or that you're empowered? Might want to have sex with you? Are you "effing" insane?
On the average, I hear this absolutely ridiculous,
prudish, Victorian slathered comment from at least ten women every single day. Their ages range from twenty-five to sixty. ENOUGH! What is wrong with dressing an ass or a tit the way it's supposed to be dressed? In something that fits and celebrates it/them!
Side-note: I love the attitude that Latin women have about fashion and dressing. Sophia Loren (check her out in NINE) has nooooo problem showing off her
eighty-something cleavage. And she looks fab. Take a lesson girls!
Why is a dress, or top or jeans that hugs your beautiful curves too tight? inappropriate or too young? Here's some info. Number one. Baggy, tight, or well-fitting pants, no matter, your ass is always going to be checked out, by both men and women. Same with a top. Get over it. It's human nature. With men, especially, they're not looking at any part of your body because it's clothed in what you think is inappropriate. Girlfriend, they've already undressed you way before that which is why men never tell you that you look nice in what you're wearing. They pretty much always see you as naked. I'm almost positive that polygamists aren't marrying multiple wives because those Little House on the Prairie outfits are inappropriate, or hot......
And as far as dressing "too young"? OMG! Are you really telling me that you're buying clothes that
bag and sag because you want to look old? Look at it this way. What does "too young" mean anyway? Honestly. A body, is a body, is a body. I've worked with twenty-year-olds who have the shape of a fifty-year-old and vice-versa. Age has nothing to do with it! I will repeat: AGE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! It's the shape of you. And the shape you're in! Rocka Sunshine Helen Mirren & Diane Sawyer! Certainly, if you're an apple body-type, no matter what age, you're not going to wear a fitted T-shirt and low-rider jeans. If you have full thighs, no matter what age! you're not going to wear a short dress or skirt. Well, you might, but shouldn't. Everything you wear...no matter what age you are!...should showcase your best attributes and camouflage the-not-so-best.
And don't tell me that you don't have any "best
attributes"...no woe-is-me-pity-party here! We all do! Actually, the mood I'm in today, I'm going to go so far as to say.....go ahead, don't listen to us, wear an "effing" birkah for all I care....don't celebrate that our maker, be it the cosmos, evolution or God (whatever you believe) gave us something quite remarkable. To be proud of. To empower us. To allow us to reflect our soul. Our body. Our shape. Ourselves.
